Robbery is defined as theft of someone else’s property or money using physical force or verbal threats against that person. Robbery is a Second Degree Felony. The range of punishment for a Robbery is between 2 and 20 years in the penitentiary and up to a $10,000 fine. If a deadly weapon like a gun is used or the victim suffers an injury in the incident, the robbery can be charged as an Aggravated Robbery. An Aggravated Robbery charge is a First Degree Felony and carries a range of punishment of between 5 and 99 years in the penitentiary and up to a $10,000 fine.
